About The Position

The Member Service Representative (MSR) provides efficient and courteous service to credit union members while processing day-to-day financial transactions. The role calls for a member-friendly attitude and a professional, courteous demeanor and contributes to the credit union’s commitment to exceptional member service. The MSR helps meet members’ needs efficiently and professionally and promotes products and services that support members’ financial well-being. The position pays $16.00–$17.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

Represent the credit union with courtesy and professionalism, processing financial transactions promptly, efficiently, and accurately.
Provide members with information about credit union services and policies in person and over the phone.
Use established sales and service techniques to discuss members’ financial needs and recommend suitable products and services.
Address member requests, problems, and complaints, and direct members to the appropriate contact when needed.
Open new accounts and service existing accounts; set up member files and explain credit union membership.
Process member-requested transactions, including share transfers to loan payments, share-to-share transfers, share withdrawals, and check requests.
Process member mail transactions accurately.
Research accounts to resolve basic discrepancies involving deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments.
Perform routine office tasks, including typing, updating member records, answering calls, filing, and shredding.
Help members correctly complete payroll deduction and direct deposit forms.
Promote credit union products and services based on member needs and creditworthiness, as determined by Beacon scores at new account opening.
Perform other duties, on a one-time or ongoing basis, to prioritize member well-being.
