About The Position

Performs routine member transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, loan payments, transfers and check cashing, to name a few. This is an entry-level position with pay rate dependent on experience. The role requires effective communication skills and the ability to work successfully with the public in a frequently stressful environment. Employees must possess mobility and stamina for a standard office setting and be able to use standard office equipment. Some employees may need to lift items up to 30 pounds, stand or sit for long periods, or raise their arms above their head. Adequate hearing and speech are necessary for communication.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine member transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, loan payments, transfers, and check cashing.
  • Enters transaction data into the credit union's computer system.
  • Receives payments for mortgage, installment, and share secured loans, ensuring accuracy and collection of late charges.
  • Understands credit union policy regarding delinquent loans and provides appropriate suggestions or referrals.
  • Provides members with necessary transaction forms.
  • Examines checks for endorsements and negotiability.
  • Ensures accuracy in providing correct transactions and cash to members.
  • Cross-sells all products and services offered by the credit union.
  • Provides routine information on credit union products, services, and policies, including membership eligibility, account types, loan procedures, interest rates, dividend rates, branch locations, office hours, and telephone numbers.
  • Responds to member requests, problems, and complaints, or directs them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Receives and processes member account information or routes it to the proper departments.
  • Processes stop payments on share draft accounts and ACH direct deposits.
  • Provides members with account status, including current balances and loan payoffs.
  • Maintains an accurate cash drawer and balances it in a timely manner.
  • Follows through on member questions or requests.
  • Completes internal training through online CPD courses.
  • Helps cross-sell all products and services (does not typically process loans).
  • Cross-trains in all areas of the Phone Center to serve as a backup, including POPio and online services.
  • Follows MIP procedures and fills out CTRs, SARs, and Monetary logs as needed, running checks over $5000 through Bridger.
  • Complies with the credit union's BSA/AML/OFAC policy.
  • May be required to be registered with NMLS if responsible for taking mortgage loan applications or answering mortgage-related questions, which involves a background search and fingerprinting.
