About The Position

Common App is a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to the pursuit of access, equity, and integrity in the college admission process. Each year we support more than 1 million students, one-third of whom are first-generation, as they apply to our more than 1100 diverse member colleges & universities using the Common App's free online application. Common App is currently searching for a Member Relations Associate. As a member of the Member Services team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Specialized Member Services, the Member Relations Associate plays a critical role in overall member satisfaction and retention. The Member Relations Associate will be responsible for understanding member priorities and positioning our products, programs, and services to deliver solutions that meet those needs. During the Annual Updates season, the Member Services Account Managers will manage a portfolio of assigned member colleges and universities via email, chat, phone and virtual and in-person presentations. Outside of Annual Updates season, the Member Services Account Manager will manage a queue of requests and questions from college and university members. Member Relations Associates are focused on helping institutions best utilize the Common App to meet their goals through sharing industry trends, member-specific statistics, and provide other pertinent information and answers to their requests in a timely manner. This is an ideal entry-level position for a well-organized, customer service-oriented individual who is passionate about access and equity in higher education and increasing their experience with account management in a collaborative and fun environment.

Requirements

  • Candidates must live in the United States.
  • Willing to travel to attend twice annual Common App Retreat.
  • 0-2 years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possesses foundational knowledge and skills required for the role.
  • Demonstrates an eagerness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities.
  • Develops clear and concise communication skills to seek guidance and share progress.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management, groups of managers, and member colleges and universities.
  • Must be a quick learner in order to understand organization structure, technology, products, and processes to educate member colleges and universities.
  • Must possess outstanding organizational skills and the ability to successfully manage priorities and projects within assigned deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical capability.
  • Professional and friendly approach; at ease when meeting new people and able to quickly build rapport, via phone, email, and in person.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret business practices and technical procedures and to write reports and business correspondence that are error free.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, team environment and as an individual contributor.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, experience with Salesforce, Acuity Scheduling, and Google Apps.

Responsibilities
