About The Position

Blossom Health is hiring a Member of Technical Staff to build AI-native product experiences for clinicians and patients. The role focuses on designing, developing, deploying, evaluating, and improving LLM-powered systems and agents that automate or augment healthcare workflows. The engineer will own AI features end-to-end, work across models, prompts, tools, retrieval systems, and application infrastructure, and collaborate closely with clinicians and engineers to identify high-impact opportunities for AI. The position is based in the company's NYC office, with in-person work five days a week.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.
At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience in high-quality environments.
Experience building and shipping LLM-powered applications or AI products in production.
Fluency in Python and/or TypeScript.
Experience with modern LLM APIs, agentic systems, tool calling, retrieval, structured outputs, or similar applied AI patterns.
Ability to reason rigorously about evaluations, reliability, latency, cost, and failure modes.
Comfort working across the stack and experimenting with new models, frameworks, and techniques.
Comfort with autonomy, ambiguity, experimentation, and ownership.
Authorization to work in the United States.
Willingness to work in person in NYC five days a week.

Build and ship AI-native product experiences used by clinicians and patients.

Own AI features end-to-end, from prototyping and experimentation through production deployment, evaluation, and iteration.
Build evaluation, monitoring, and feedback systems to improve AI quality, reliability, and performance.
Work across models, prompts, tools, retrieval systems, and application infrastructure to solve product problems.
Bring emerging AI capabilities into production-ready experiences that deliver measurable value.
Collaborate with clinicians and engineers to understand healthcare workflows and determine where AI can have the greatest impact.
