Member of Technical Staff, Backend
About The Position
LlamaIndex is hiring an experienced backend engineer for its backend application platform team. The role focuses on building new features and scaling the company’s ingestion and AI systems, particularly its core APIs. The team is expanding to support the company’s growth and offers opportunities for ownership and professional growth. The backend stack includes Python, Node.JS, Kubernetes (K8s), Terraform, Postgres, and Temporal. The role also involves working with prospects and customers to develop production solutions. LlamaIndex offers a hybrid-friendly culture based out of its downtown San Francisco office.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of backend engineering experience.
- Experience shipping completely new product features from scratch, taking them from prototype to production for end users in a short time.
- Experience shipping applications at scale.
Nice To Haves
- Experience shipping, or interest in building, AI/LLM-native applications.
- Experience rapidly iterating with customers or other engineers.
Responsibilities
- Build new features and scale backend capabilities, with a focus on scaling core APIs.
- Work with prospects and customers to build production solutions.
- Translate user feedback into features and conduct proactive user discovery.
- Help jointly develop and iterate on the product roadmap for core features.
