About The Position

The Front Desk Attendant is responsible for delivering the Ultimate Service Promise by providing superior customer service to our members and guests. This role involves assisting with membership sales, new member enrollments, guest pass processing, and collection of late dues. The attendant will also maintain a clean and organized front desk, lobby, and locker room environment through routine cleaning and replenishing supplies. They ensure guests and members are warmly greeted and promptly assisted, and that incoming calls are answered professionally. The role requires adherence to proper member check-in procedures, effective response to member inquiries, and escalation of issues to management when necessary. Additionally, the attendant maintains logs, fitness profiles, handles telephone inquiries, and manages group fitness reservations. Reporting or escalating any unsafe conditions or emergency situations immediately is crucial. The role also involves monitoring club cleanliness standards, addressing maintenance and sanitation concerns, and ensuring the club is on track to meet retail goals. Partnership with maintenance and janitorial staff is expected to address any issues promptly.

Requirements

  • Must be energetic and possess a very friendly, outgoing personality and positive attitude.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, including telephone etiquette.
  • Possess a strong customer service focus, diplomacy and professionalism.
  • Understands and follows oral and written instructions.
  • Able to multi-task and perform tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Gym/Fitness industry experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with membership sales, new member enrollments, guest pass processing, and collection of late dues.
  • Maintains a clean and organized front desk, lobby, and locker room environment through routine cleaning, mopping, dusting, replenishing supplies, and freshening common areas.
  • Ensures that guests and members are warmly greeted and promptly assisted.
  • Ensures incoming calls are answered in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Ensures proper member check-in procedures are followed.
  • Responds effectively to member questions, requests and concerns and escalates to management immediately if unable to resolve.
  • Maintains the Maintenance Log, Fitness profiles, telephone inquiries and group fitness reservations.
  • Immediately reports or escalates to management any unsafe conditions or emergency situations.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk and lobby environment at all times.
  • Keeps front desk, lobby, locker rooms, and common areas neat, clean, and presentable at all times.
  • Performs routine cleaning duties including mopping, dusting, wiping surfaces, and trash removal.
  • Replenishes supplies such as paper products, soap, sanitizing stations, and locker room amenities as needed.
  • Freshens and maintains locker rooms to ensure a clean and comfortable member experience.
  • Monitors club cleanliness standards and immediately addresses or reports maintenance and sanitation concerns.
  • Monitors retail goals and ensures club is on track to meet and exceed assigned goals.
  • Partners with the maintenance and janitorial staff to immediately address any maintenance or cleanliness issues around the club.
