About The Position

This is a part-time role for one year within the Central District. The position focuses on delivering a seamless and high-quality member experience by identifying, diagnosing, and addressing members' consumer financial needs. The role requires expertise in BECU's products and services, including business services, consumer lending, deposit servicing, IRA, POA, and Fiduciary accounts. The Member Consultant will also assist the community with financial wellness through education, budgeting, debt management, and financial planning resources. The role involves sales consultation and signing loan documents originating from the call center. Compensation transparency is emphasized, with a pay range of $26.00-$32.12 hourly. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience
  • Minimum two years of experience in a sales-oriented, financial, or retail environment
  • Ability to successfully complete 12-week in-house training program after hire
  • Ability to work flexible shifts between the hours of 8:00am and 6:30pm during the week, and 8:00am and 1:30pm on Saturdays

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience in a financial institution
  • Spanish language fluency highly desirable
  • Thorough understanding of the sales process and ability to manage a sales pipeline efficiently
  • Strong proficiency and comfort level with learning new systems and programs; with the ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously
  • Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of Credit Union key objectives, product and service solutions
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to membership, deposit, and loan products and services offered.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills to enable daily communication with Members
  • Proficient math aptitude and analytical skills
  • Problem resolution, negotiating, organization, multi-tasking and peer coaching skills

Responsibilities

  • Utilize product knowledge to provide excellent customer service and sales, including areas of business services, consumer lending, deposit servicing, IRA, POA, and Fiduciary accounts.
  • Sign all line and loan documents that originate through outbound/inbound call center, ensuring each Member’s needs are fulfilled.
  • Assist the community with financial wellness, which could involve financial education programs, assistance with budgeting, debt management, or access to financial planning resources.
  • Identify, diagnose, and address members’ consumer financial needs.
  • Refer members to specialized services when necessary.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, resolving members' needs and providing expertise in specialized financial services.
