About The Position

The purpose of this role is to serve food and/or beverages to guests, including taking orders and delivering items. This should be done in a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional manner to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction. The position requires adherence to all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations, as well as communication with kitchen staff. Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules based on business needs. Regular attendance is essential, and associates with irregular attendance may face disciplinary action. Associates may also be called upon to provide 'Lateral Service' to support other departments and ensure overall customer satisfaction, responding positively unless it could lead to guest dissatisfaction, in which case a manager should be notified.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Prefer one year previous serving experience.
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred.
  • Food Handler Certification
  • Responsible Vendors Training
  • CPR Training preferred
  • Additional language ability is preferred, Spanish in particular.
  • Must be able to lift/carry 10-40 lbs frequently.
  • Must be able to walk, climb stairs, reach, grasp constantly.
  • Must be able to crouch/bend/stoop and push/pull occasionally.
  • Must have constant near vision, far vision, hearing, talking, and smell.
  • Must wear safety shoes (slip resistant) preferred.
  • Must use gloves (latex, vinyl, plastic).
  • Must wear an apron.

Responsibilities

  • Check station before, during, and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.
  • Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain any specials or promotions.
  • Record guest orders accurately, upsell, and repeat the order to the guest for confirmation.
  • Input orders into the Point of Sale system according to department protocol.
  • Retrieve orders from the kitchen, confirm accuracy, and deliver to the guest with appropriate condiments.
  • Abide by all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations regarding serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated guests.
  • Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
  • Market and serve dessert items or specialty beverages upon request.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and present checks, processing them according to hotel procedures.
  • Communicate with kitchen chefs and abide by their rules, guidelines, and requests.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by supervisor.
  • Supplement bussers/food runners in transporting food from the kitchen, setting and clearing buffet, and setting, clearing, and resetting tables.
  • Perform all assigned side work, including replenishing condiments and restocking side stands.
  • Answer the telephone and take room service orders.
  • Handle special guest requests.
  • Greet and seat guests according to Trump National Doral-Miami guidelines.
  • Attend required meetings and contribute to educational and communication processes.
  • Ensure all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations are followed.
