Requirements

• Ability to take direction from supervisor.
• Understanding of temperature controls.

Responsibilities

• Converting raw materials into liquid metal at temperatures exceeding (2800) degrees.
• Ensuring the quality of the metal, including chemical and temperature control.
• Adjusting metal chemistry to meet specifications.
• Maintaining the furnace, including daily patches, repairs, and relining the refractory.
• Recording pouring temperatures.
• Preparing pouring ladles for daily use and pouring metal into ladles.
• Assisting with the cleaning and maintaining of furnaces and ladles.
• Performing all duties in a safe and responsible manner.
