About The Position

The Meetings & Events Manager is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of internal and external events. This role partners closely with business stakeholders to deliver high-impact experiences that align to business objectives and drive measurable ROI. The successful incumbent will have the opportunity to work on high-visibility events for Bayer CropScience within an inclusive and diverse team. Bayer is committed to a flexible hybrid working environment with 3 expected days in office. This is a vacant 9-month temporary Contract position located in Calgary, Alberta.

Requirements

  • University degree or diploma in Event Management, Marketing, or related field
  • 5+ years experience in event planning or meeting management
  • Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%
  • A valid passport is required (for potential U.S. travel)
  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing large-scale national or international events
  • Knowledge of corporate event compliance and procurement processes
  • Familiarity with brand and marketing activation strategies
  • Experience with Canva

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of internal meetings, and small customer events
  • Develop event strategies aligned with business goals and brand positioning
  • Manage end-to-end event lifecycle (pre-event, on-site, and post-event)
  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and leadership teams
  • Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders and vendors
  • Manage timelines, deliverables, and event communication plans
  • Ensure a high-quality attendee experience across all touchpoints
  • Oversee all logistics including venue sourcing, travel, accommodations, and registration
  • Manage vendors (AV, production, catering, etc.) and ensure quality delivery
  • Support live event production including show flow and execution
  • Develop and manage event budgets, including tracking expenses, reconcile budgets, and ensure financial compliance
  • Ensure all events meet company compliance and legal requirements
  • Develop contingency plans and partner with security teams as needed
  • Ensure all activities/events are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, in accordance with Bayer Safety, compliance and Sustainability Policies.
