About The Position

Pharmacy Technician position at MHP’s Medworks Pharmacy, a retail pharmacy serving Shelbyville and surrounding areas. The technician supports prescription processing and medication dispensing, communicates with patients and providers, assists with billing and inventory, and helps maintain a safe, clean, compliant pharmacy. Delivery duties to patients and other healthcare facilities may be required as needed.

Requirements

Pharmacy Technician License is required.
Experience working under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
Patient-focused approach.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Math skills, including the ability to work with fractions and percentages.
Willingness to learn.
Attention to detail.
High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Assist with inputting and processing prescriptions.
Prepare medications for dispensing and complete final verification with the pharmacist.
Communicate with providers and patients about medication fills and history.
Support patients with product information.
Assist with patient billing and processing.
Maintain inventory.
Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy and follow regulatory and legal policies.
Recognize and identify patient medications.
Communicate insurance restrictions and limitations.
Deliver medications to patients and other healthcare facilities as needed.
