About The Position

Delta Leasing is seeking an experienced Medium/Heavy Duty Fleet Mechanic to repair and maintain our growing fleet of vehicles. This position will work on a variety of equipment ranging from light-duty pickup trucks and SUVs to buses, and medium/heavy-duty trucks. Bus repair and maintenance experience is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic and repair experience across multiple vehicle platforms, including gasoline and diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, steering, drivetrain, and vehicle communication systems.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.

  • Ability to communicate repair needs and technical information clearly.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Complete and submit required work orders and documentation daily.
  • Maintain company equipment and assigned work areas.
  • Must provide own basic hand tools necessary to perform minor and major repairs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bus repair and maintenance experience is highly preferred.
  • Gasoline and diesel diagnostic and repair experience preferred.
  • Electrical diagnostic experience preferred.
  • Air brake experience highly preferred.
  • ASE or manufacturer certifications are a plus.
  • NSTC training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on light-duty trucks, SUVs, vans, buses, medium/heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and other fleet vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair gasoline and diesel engines.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems, vehicle communication systems, and data links.
  • Diagnose and repair transmissions, drivetrains, suspension, steering, and brake systems.
  • Perform bus maintenance and repairs, including air and hydraulic brake systems, electrical systems, heating systems, doors, and other bus components.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil and filter changes, chassis lubrication, batteries, brakes, tires, fluids, and inspections.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults using computerized diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and other testing equipment.
  • Repair or replace malfunctioning mechanical and electrical components.
  • Test vehicles following repairs to verify proper operation and ensure repairs have corrected the reported concern.
  • Identify additional needed repairs and clearly communicate findings to supervisors and customers.
  • Accurately document the Concern, Cause, and Correction (3 C's) for completed work.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, parts, and work performed.
  • Estimate repair times and complete assigned work efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop and work area.
  • Assist with other fleet maintenance and repair needs as required.
