About The Position

The Medication Coordinator (Flex) administers medications, monitors residents’ health, and documents care for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents. The role supports residents’ safety, dignity, privacy, and independence and collaborates with other care team members to provide comprehensive care. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Exceptional English communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting effectively with residents and staff.
• Ability to use electronic devices and provided software, especially electronic health records.
• Understanding of basic healthcare principles or practices.
• Familiarity with medication management protocols, common medications, dosages, and administration techniques.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and infection control measures.
• Awareness of common health conditions affecting older adults.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Ability to remain calm and compassionate in challenging situations.
• Problem-solving ability to address concerns or complaints promptly and pivot quickly between tasks.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to foster positive relationships.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in caregiving or healthcare settings, preferably as a medication aide or medication technician.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate medication administration schedules according to residents’ prescribed dosages and timing.
• Accurately document medication distribution and maintain current medication lists and administration logs.
• Monitor medication storage and inventory, and coordinate refills and supplies as needed.
• Ensure safety protocols are in place to protect residents.
• Monitor residents’ health, behavioral changes, and possible medication side effects, and communicate concerns to appropriate leadership.
• Respect and uphold residents’ dignity, privacy, and independence.
• Collaborate with other care team members to provide comprehensive care and support.
