About The Position

The Residence at Presque Isle Bay is seeking dedicated healthcare professionals looking to advance their careers as a Med Tech in Training. This full-time position on our afternoon (2nd) shift (32 to 40 hours per week, including a rotating weekend schedule) bridges the gap between hands-on caregiving and clinical support. We provide comprehensive, paid on-the-job training and cover the cost of your medication administration certification. Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a nursing home, skilled nursing facility, or hospital setting is required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Strong communication skills and basic math proficiency (for medication counting and documentation).
  • Reliable attendance and the physical stamina required for resident transfers.
  • Ability to pass standard pre-employment background checks, drug screenings, and the state-mandated training competency exams.

Responsibilities

  • Shadow certified Med Techs and supervisors to learn safe, accurate medication administration, documentation, and storage protocols.
  • Provide high-quality assistance to senior residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, and meals) during the afternoon shift.
  • Recognize potential side effects, monitor resident well-being, and accurately report physical or behavioral changes to the shift supervisor.
  • Maintain meticulous records and adhere strictly to community policies and state regulatory guidelines.
