About The Position

The Medication Assistant provides resident care services to residents in the Assisted Living area, including assistance with self-administration of medication, under the supervision of the Resident Care Director (RCD) and according to scheduled duties. The role also helps maintain a positive physical and social environment and a warm, positive home for residents. The position is part-time, with an 11 p.m.–7 a.m. shift, at Spring Arbor of Rocky Mount. Pay is $17 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess current Medication Training certification.
• Must have a positive criminal background screening.
• Must adhere to the company Drug Free Workplace policy; associates are subject to the policy.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience with senior adults is highly preferred.
• May be a Licensed or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Nursing Assistant (NA), depending on state requirements; if licensed or certified, must be in good standing with the state licensing or certifying agency.
• CPR and first aid certification preferred or as required by the state.
• Previous experience with computerized resident documentation systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Approach encounters with residents, associates, and visitors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Assist residents with medications as permitted under state guidelines.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing bed linens, positioning, transfers, mobility, and incontinence care.
• Communicate daily with Resident Services associates to support continuity of care and services.
• Participate in resident activities and lead activities as needed.
• Meet customer service standards by being friendly, helpful, and courteous, with resident satisfaction as a priority.
• Perform other assigned job duties.
