Requirements

  • Completion of a medical program with degree and/or certification in medication nursing.
  • Current First Aid, CPR and Water Safety Certificate.
  • Minimum of two (2) years nursing experience in evaluating and/or treating patients.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in working with patients in a psychiatric, mental health, or substance abuse treatment setting.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for medication management procedures.
  • Collaborate with and support Doctor in all aspects of medication management.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; calling for assistance from health care support personnel.
  • Document patient care services by charting in client files and medical folder.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
  • Maintain nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Attend Clinical Committee meetings.
  • Conduct health education and/or psycho-educational groups as directed.
  • Perform additional functions as specifically requested by Directors to meet special facility patient needs, as necessary.
