A Medication Assisted Treatment Nurse, also known as a “Dosing Nurse,” provides nursing care to patients with an addiction. This role involves monitoring and adjusting medication within prescriber-approved limits, administering medication according to Federal OMT Guidelines, assessing for intoxication, and serving as a liaison between the client, staff, and other care providers. The nurse also provides information, education, and support to clients.
