Medication Aide (CNA required) - PRN (As Needed) - Eventide Prairie Commons
About The Position
Eventide Prairie Commons is seeking a PRN (As Needed) Medication Aide (MA40). This position requires a minimum of 24 hours of work per month, with 16 of those hours falling on a weekend. Additionally, one required holiday per year is expected. The role involves providing assistance with daily living activities, managing client admissions and discharges, adhering to documentation protocols, and prioritizing tasks to meet client needs. A key responsibility includes administering medications and treatments under the direction of an RN, adhering to scope of practice and facility policies. The position also requires compliance with HIPAA regulations to safeguard Protected Health Information (PHI).
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older.
- Active CNA license in the state of NE required
- Active MA40 license in the state of NE required
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 6 months experience as an aide or caregiver preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provides assistance with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, transferring/ambulation and continence.
- Assists with Senior/client admissions, discharges, transfers and orientation of new employees.
- Follows department protocol for submission of completed documentation.
- Prioritizes assignments, making adjustments throughout shift to meet frequently changing/ overlapping Senior/client/caregiver/TEAMember/manager needs, call lights, when necessary.
- Performs work duties within the assigned work environment related to the position, as assigned by Eventide, regardless of TEAMember preference.
- Follows through on the comprehensive care plan/service plan as developed for each individual senior/client.
- Complies with HIPAA regulations regarding privacy by insuring that Protected Health Information (PHI) is safeguarded at all times.
- Prepares and administers medications and treatments, under the direction of the RN, within scope of practice as ordered by the physician and according to facility policies/procedures.
