About The Position

Bluff Recovery is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Medication Administration Technician (PRN) to join our team in Augusta, GA. This position plays an important role in supporting safe and accurate medication administration while helping maintain a structured, supportive, and therapeutic environment for clients receiving substance use and behavioral health treatment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2–5 years of related healthcare or medical experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medication administration procedures preferred.
  • Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) strongly preferred.
  • Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or mental health settings is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to problem-solve and make sound, ethical decisions.
  • Professionalism, flexibility, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective during crisis situations.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, licensing standards, and CARF regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete medication-related paperwork for new admissions.
  • Verify client medications during the intake and admission process.
  • Assist the medical department with documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Support and oversee medication administration in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a practicum observer for newly trained staff learning medication administration procedures.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and onsite staff to ensure client needs are addressed.
  • Maintain clear and accurate communication through verbal reports and written documentation.
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and educational opportunities.
  • Provide appropriate support to clients regarding treatment needs and concerns.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, orderly, and therapeutic environment.
  • Assist with crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Monitor client behavioral and emotional needs and communicate observations to the treatment team.
  • Transport clients as needed.
  • Complete admission paperwork and other duties as assigned.
