Medication Administration Aide (MAA)
About The Position
St. Dominic Villa, an Illuminus Community in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, provides long-term skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation services for older adults. The Medication Administration Aide supports residents by administering prescribed medications in accordance with policy, completing related assessments, monitoring residents, and communicating changes in condition to the nurse. The role also involves respectful communication with residents, families, and staff and supporting the organization’s mission, vision, and values. Full-time, part-time, and PRN opportunities are available, with scheduling options that vary according to community needs. The position may include 8-hour shifts and weekend rotation as scheduled. Pay is $21.50–$24.00 per hour, based on experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) certification.
- Certification by the State of Wisconsin for medication administration; CBRF/AL medication training does not qualify.
- Maintain 100 working hours as a Medication Administration Aide and complete 4 hours of medication training per calendar year after completing the program.
- Active CPR certification.
Responsibilities
- Communicate respectfully with residents, families, and staff while supporting the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
- Administer prescribed medications according to policy, including related assessments such as blood pressure and pulse checks.
- Monitor residents and promptly report changes in condition to the nurse.
- Maintain current medication and healthcare knowledge through required training and meetings.
- Provide on-call coverage and perform other assigned duties.
