Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED with 1+ year of experience in medical insurance, pharmacy, clinical coding, or customer service
  • Medical insurance or pharmacy experience preferred; prescription drug knowledge required
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and strong phone handling skills
  • Detail-oriented problem solver with sound judgment, confidentiality, and ethical standards
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask and manage time in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer skills
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and able to adapt to changing needs
  • Flexible to work assigned schedules, rotating coverage, and overtime as needed
  • May have agent license but no active appointments

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of pharmaceuticals or medical terminology

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inbound and outbound phone interviews with Medicare Supplement applicants
  • Verify application information with accuracy and professionalism
  • Follow structured scripts and use supplemental medical questionnaires when needed
  • Listen carefully and probe thoughtfully to gather complete, accurate details
  • Identify and request outstanding underwriting requirements
  • Enter interview details and documentation into the administrative system
  • Evaluate applicants against underwriting guidelines established by carrier clients
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate application processing
