About The Position

Daniels Health is looking for a dependable, hands-on Plant Operator to join our medical waste treatment facility in Gastonia, NC. As a Plant Operator, you will play an important role in helping healthcare facilities safely manage medical waste. This role involves operating specialized equipment, ensuring accurate documentation, and following safe processing procedures. The position is located at 1851 Chespark Dr, Gastonia, NC 28052.

Requirements

• Enjoy physical, hands-on work and be comfortable in a fast-paced industrial environment
• Ability to repeatedly lift, move, and transport materials throughout an entire shift
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. regularly and safely push carts weighing up to 200 lbs.
• Comfortable standing and being active for the duration of an 8+ hour shift
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
• Reliable attendance and a proven track record of dependability

Nice To Haves

• Experience in physically demanding roles such as warehouse, manufacturing, construction, landscaping, shipping/receiving, sanitation, or similar environments

Responsibilities

• Receive, weigh, and process incoming sharps and regulated medical waste containers
• Operate the autoclave system for medical waste treatment
• Load and operate the Washsmart container sanitization system
• Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment following training
• Routinely lift containers weighing up to 55 lbs.
• Push loaded carts weighing up to 200 lbs.
• Spend the majority of your shift standing, walking, bending, reaching, and moving materials throughout the facility
• Complete required paperwork and maintain accurate processing records
• Follow all safety, quality, and compliance procedures
• Collaborate with a hardworking team to keep operations running smoothly
