About The Position

The Medical Underwriting Assistant is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience while supporting the Medical Underwriting workflow. This role combines administrative responsibilities with introductory underwriting tasks, all under the guidance of a supportive supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • 2 year's experience in a high-volume work environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, oral and written communication skills.
  • High level customer service orientation.
  • Organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work in high volume, fast paced atmosphere.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews EOI Exception report from EOIApplication Robitics Process (RPA) process.
  • Monitors and address inquiries from MUDocusign.
  • Document shared mailbox.
  • Monitors and address undeliverable emails from MedicalUnderwritingDoNotReply shared mailbox.
  • Inputs MIB codes into MIB database.
  • Review incoming electronic mail, distributing to assigned underwriter and Document Management department.
  • Utilizes EIS, Filenet, PACS, VUE and SPAS as required by departmental needs.
  • Responds to inquiries received from EOIapplications shared mailbox and Medical Records vendors.
  • Review applications for completeness and addressing those with incomplete information.
  • Review and send out personalized certificates for Voluntary Group Term Life Policies.
  • Organizes and prioritizes workflow to meet defined production goals.
  • All other duties as assigned.
