About The Position

The Medical Transportation Communication Specialist operates all radios, computer systems, and other equipment associated with MedCenter Air. This role requires knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of aircraft and vehicles to ensure the most appropriate mode of transport and vehicle is assigned to each request. The specialist coordinates all aspects of the mission in a timely manner, monitors the location of all transport units at all times, and prioritizes safety. Responsibilities include collecting and maintaining accurate records of information, including pre and post-transport patient documentation and transport records, and confirming prescheduled transports on the day of transport. The role also involves demonstrating appropriate management and cost-effective use of supplies and equipment, and submitting department changes and credits in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Current EMT certification required or must obtain EMT certification within one year of hire.
  • IAMTCS Certified Flight Communicator (CFC) certification or equivalent must be obtained within one year of hire and must be maintained throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree preferred.
  • EMT-P certification preferred.
  • 2 years of previous EMS/Fire/Law Enforcement/Critical Care dispatching experience preferred.
  • 1 year previous flight coordination (Rotor and/or Fixed Wing) experience preferred.
