About The Position

This position is responsible for communicating, coordinating, and directing the deployment of personnel and equipment as it relates to medical emergency response and ground and air medical transportation. The organization is seeking a professional, detail-oriented candidate with experience in healthcare operations, emergency communications, or dispatch environments who can thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress setting. Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. PRN positions, also known as Casual, As Needed, or Per Diem, offer flexibility and are designed to provide coverage during busy periods, employee absences, and vacations, serving as an excellent opportunity to support the team as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) of the following required: Previous work experience in healthcare, Previous work experience in fire services, Previous work experience in EMS, Previous dispatching experience.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and quality standards.
  • Understanding of confidentiality laws governing provider-patient relationships, including HIPAA.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain professionalism in high-stress and high-sensory environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Commitment to teamwork and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across a variety of audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with tact and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with internal and external partners involved in patient movement and healthcare system operations.
  • Coordinate available resources to support both routine and emergency response needs.
  • Operate communication equipment and systems in accordance with department protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with emergency procedures and required notifications.
  • Prioritize and dispatch A.L.E.R.T. and Logan Health EMS Network ground and air medical teams per established procedures.
  • Coordinate communication across the healthcare delivery team to ensure safe and timely patient transport and transfer.
  • Maintain safety as a primary responsibility in transport coordination, operational awareness, and tracking of transport assets (ground and air).
  • Identify operational concerns and provide recommendations for improvement to leadership.
  • Collaborate effectively with peers and contribute to ongoing professional development of self and others.
