About The Position

Texas Health is seeking a full-time Medical Transcriptionist for the Texas Hip and Knee Center in Fort Worth, Texas. This role works 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Medical Transcriptionist accurately transcribes dictated reports, checks medical text for inconsistencies and inaccuracies, expands medical jargon and abbreviations, prioritizes reports according to continuity-of-care needs, and edits documents for grammar and clarity. Documents include discharge summaries, history and physical examination reports, operative reports, consultation reports, autopsy reports, diagnostic imaging studies, progress notes, and referral letters. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
One year of medical transcription experience.

Nice To Haves

Associate's degree.
Three years of transcription experience.
Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT) credential or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

Transcribe dictated reports accurately within established standards.
Recognize, interpret, and evaluate inconsistencies, discrepancies, and inaccuracies in medical text or dictation, and clarify, flag, or report them as needed.
Translate medical jargon and abbreviations into their expanded form.
Prioritize dictated reports based on continuity-of-care needs.
Edit documents for grammar and clarity as necessary.
Produce documents including discharge summaries, history and physical examination reports, operative reports, consultation reports, autopsy reports, diagnostic imaging studies, progress notes, and referral letters.
