About The Position

Eckerd Connects is seeking a part-time, on-call Substitute Instructor for Medical Trades at Denison Job Corps Center. The instructor presents instruction in a regular classroom setting in the designated subject area, promotes a positive classroom atmosphere to support student motivation, and maintains classroom discipline to support learning. The role also maintains student personnel folders and records and forwards daily attendance to the Student Records area. Job Corps is a nationwide residential career training program serving eligible young people ages 16 through 24. It helps participants complete high school, train for careers, and obtain employment. This position is classified as safety-sensitive and requires pre-employment drug/alcohol testing, as well as successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check. The position is on call for up to 29 hours per week and pays $26.00 per hour.

Requirements

Associate's degree or 60 semester hours, and completion of an approved substitute authorization course.
Completed application to the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners.
Pass a drug screen in compliance with the Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
Successfully complete a nationwide criminal background check.
Complete pre-employment drug/alcohol testing, as required for this safety-sensitive role.

Nice To Haves

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is preferred.
