About The Position

At Gateway Regional Medical Center, we're looking for a Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our laboratory team. Requirements

  • MLT Candidates: Associate degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program, including chemistry and biology coursework, or an equivalent combination of accredited coursework and structured/military laboratory training
  • MLT Candidates: Eligible for MLT certification through ASCP, AMT, HEW, CLS/NCA, or an equivalent credentialing organization
  • MT/MLS Candidates: Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution
  • MT/MLS Candidates: One year of accredited laboratory training
  • MT/MLS Candidates: Eligible for MLS/MT certification through ASCP, AMT, HEW, CLS/NCA, or an equivalent credentialing organization

Nice To Haves

  • MLT Candidates: Registry within 12 months of program completion is recommended
  • MT/MLS Candidates: Certification within 12 months of program completion is preferred
  • Previous laboratory experience is preferred, but new graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply. If you have the education, training, and commitment to provide high-quality laboratory work, we'd like to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures supporting diagnosis, treatment, and disease prevention
  • Analyzing and interpreting test results with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Following established quality control and safety standards
  • Operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory instruments and equipment
  • Working collaboratively with laboratory and clinical teams to support excellent patient care
