About The Position

Starr Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Technologist to join their team. This role is part of Lifepoint Health, a healthcare delivery network committed to employee well-being and community health. The Medical Technologist will play a vital role in making communities healthier by performing various laboratory tests and analyses.

Requirements

  • Must have either an ASCP, AMT, or Tennessee State License.
  • Bachelors Degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Follows standardized procedures and helps prepare samples for testing.
  • Collects samples and analyze bodily fluids and substances for abnormalities.
  • Collects blood and study blood samples used in transfusions.
  • Operates laboratory equipment in a high-quality, effective manner.
  • Analyzes test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits, and reports/documents results per organizational standards.
  • Performs automated tests using computerized instruments & automated equipment.
  • Runs tests and analyzes the results to be reported to the physician or registered nurse.
  • Performs Quality Assurance work to ensure accuracy of equipment.
