About The Position

UP Health System Marquette is seeking a Medical Technologist for their General Lab. This is a 1.0 FTE position working 40 hours per week with varied shifts. This position is part of the MAST union and offers a $7,500 sign-on bonus for eligible external candidates. As a Medical Technologist, you will perform diagnostic testing on patient samples to assist physicians in diagnosing and monitoring disease states. The role reports to the Director of Laboratory Services. The position involves occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens and requires frequent sitting, computer/data entry, and equipment handling, with occasional standing, walking, and light lifting. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex, is expected.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Medical Technologist licensure through ASCP or AMT preferred (licensure must reflect education requirements).
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Valid driver license
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP); ASCP or equivalent registry
