About The Position

Heartline Staffing is recruiting a Medical Technologist for an onsite clinical laboratory position in Richlands, Virginia. This position performs laboratory testing and analysis used to support accurate and reliable patient care. The Medical Technologist prepares patient samples for testing, analyzes bodily fluids and other substances for abnormalities, operates laboratory equipment, evaluates test results, performs automated testing, and participates in laboratory Quality Assurance activities.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science with a major in Medical Laboratory Science REQUIRED
At least 1 year of experience in an acute laboratory setting REQUIRED

Responsibilities

Follow standardized procedures and prepare patient samples for testing.
Collect and analyze bodily fluids and substances for abnormalities, including blood samples for transfusions.
Operate laboratory equipment safely and effectively.
Analyze test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits.
Report and document laboratory findings according to organizational standards.
Perform automated testing using computerized instruments and equipment.
Conduct Quality Assurance activities to ensure accuracy and reliability of equipment and test results.
Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
