About The Position

Lakes Regional Healthcare is seeking a Medical Technologist to join its laboratory team and help improve the health and well-being of patients in the Iowa Great Lakes region. The position works alongside qualified laboratory technologists in a clean and comfortable environment and contributes to a patient-focused care setting. The Medical Technologist is responsible for specimen collection and processing, performing tests, and reporting laboratory test results. The role follows laboratory procedures for specimen collection and processing, timely test analysis, and maintaining patient test-result records. It also performs proficiency testing and maintains records showing that proficiency samples are handled in the same manner as patient samples. The role is based in Spirit Lake, Iowa, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., rotating weekends and holidays, and possible coverage of other shifts as needed. The position is regular and eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus; restrictions apply.

Requirements

Completion of a medical technology training program.
Board certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), HEW, or another equivalent certification body.
An associate or bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science or medical technology is preferred.
One year of experience in a hospital setting is beneficial.
