About The Position
Nazareth Hospital, a member of Trinity Health, Mid-Atlantic is looking for a Part-Time Day Medical Technologist. This role will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of point-of-care testing (POCT) across Nazareth Hospital. The Point-of-Care Coordinator (POCC) will ensure regulatory compliance, train and assess staff competency, monitor quality control, and serve as the liaison between the laboratory and clinical departments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology
- 2-3 years of clinical laboratory experience, POCT experience preferred
- Possess or be eligible for Technologist certification (BB, C, CG, CT, H, HTL, MLS, M, MB) by ASCP
- With Bachelor's; MT (ASCP) certification or eligible.
- Certified as MT (HEW)
- Certified as MT (AMT)
Nice To Haves
- ASCP certification preferred
- Master’s or doctorate in chemistry, biology, immunology, immunohematology, microbiology, allied health, clinical laboratory sciences or an appropriately related field (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Train and certify clinical staff on POCT devices
- Maintain quality control, documentation, and compliance with CAP, CLIA and Joint Commission.
- Oversee instrument performance, troubleshooting and vendor relations
