About The Position

Northwest Florida Community Hospital (NFCH) is seeking a Full-Time Medical Technologist to join our hospital laboratory team! The Medical Technologist performs laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures and quality standards. This position is responsible for accurately performing, evaluating, and reporting laboratory test results while maintaining a high level of patient care, safety, and quality.

Requirements

Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist certification or eligibility as required.
Appropriate state and national laboratory credentials/licensure, as applicable.
Previous hospital laboratory experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing accurately and efficiently.
Collect and process laboratory specimens according to established procedures.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
Perform quality control testing and follow laboratory quality assurance procedures.
Recognize and report abnormal or critical results appropriately.
Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
Follow all applicable hospital, laboratory, safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA.
Work collaboratively with laboratory staff, nursing, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.
