We are seeking a Medical Technologist to join our team supporting the DOE's Y-12 National Security Complex! This position is part-time (20 hours a week) and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Responsibilities Collecting blood samples (Venipuncture). Handling blood and urine samples and sample processing. Running calibrations, quality control samples, proficiency testing samples, and patient samples on laboratory analyzers. Reviewing and interpreting lab results and enter them into electronic medical record system. Performing scheduled analyzer maintenance. Provided Training: Candidate will be trained to perform vision testing, ECG, and taking vitals (blood pressure, pulse, O2 sat, temperature). Candidate will be scheduled to take a NIOSH-approved Spirometry training course to become proficient in performing spirometry (pulmonary function) testing. Candidate will be scheduled to take a CAOHC-approved Audiometry course to become certified in performing audiograms (hearing tests). About the Site The NNSA's Y-12 National Security Complex, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, is the nation’s only source of enriched uranium nuclear weapon components and provides enriched uranium for the U.S. Navy as well as excels in materials science, precision manufacturing, and stores enriched uranium.
