About The Position

Conducts a variety of laboratory tests and duties according to established laboratory procedures, and in compliance with Cherokee Nation Policies and Procedures, Rural Health Guidelines and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA'88), and Commission on Office Laboratory Accreditation (COLA) regulations, or any other applicable rules, regulations and guidelines while working under the supervision of a Laboratory Supervisor and/or Laboratory Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from 4-year college or university or graduated from a Medical Technology School approved by a recognized accrediting organization.
  • No additional experience required.
  • Knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Must be a registered Medical Technologist or registry eligible.
  • Must obtain registry within six (6) months of hire and maintain throughout employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
  • Must be able to meet the sensory and physical requirements of the job.
  • Must possess current technical and analytical knowledge.
  • Must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
  • Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.

  • Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification throughout employment.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts a variety of laboratory tests and duties according to established laboratory procedures.
  • Complies with Cherokee Nation Policies and Procedures, Rural Health Guidelines and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA'88), and Commission on Office Laboratory Accreditation (COLA) regulations, or any other applicable rules, regulations and guidelines.
  • Performs laboratory testing in the multi-modality areas of the laboratory.
  • Performs phlebotomy services as required.
  • Maintains documented training with annual re-evaluation for laboratory procedures and operation of laboratory instruments.
