About The Position

Cooper Clinic is seeking a Medical Technologist (MT/MLT) to perform routine chemical, hematologic, and other general laboratory tests and procedures. This role involves drawing blood, collecting, processing, and storing specimens. Requirements

College graduate with a science degree, especially Medical Technology; or a graduate from an accredited Medical Technology program with a certificate in Medical Technology.
A minimum of 3 years' previous experience in a laboratory or medical setting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to independently perform laboratory procedures, calibration and quality control checks with minimal supervision.
Basic computer skills and knowledge.
Good computer skills and problem-solving abilities.
Self-motivated and strive for professionalism.
Possess organizational skills with great attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Performs phlebotomy, nasopharyngeal, nasal and throat swab specimen collections.
Performs lab testing (chemistries, hematology, urinalysis, and other) on patient samples using instruments or manual methods.
Ensures that tests are performed in compliance with department and regulatory policies and procedures while following quality assurance.
Adheres to all laboratory policies and procedures.
Maintains patient flow, provides customer service, patient education and support to physicians and staff.
Operates and troubleshoot equipment/instruments as needed to ensure their proper functioning prior to test analysis and reporting test results.
Assists in maintaining inventory (supplies).
Performs calibration and correlation studies.
Follows departmental protocol for maintaining proper documentation.
Maintains continuing education and training.
Follows all clinic policies and standard operating procedures.
Completes duties on site with consistent, regular, and reliable attendance.
Administers injections
Accomplishes other duties as assigned.
