A Medical Technologist performs diagnostic testing on patient samples to aid physicians in the diagnosis and/or monitoring of various disease states. This role involves following standardized procedures, preparing and collecting samples, analyzing bodily fluids and substances for abnormalities, and studying blood samples used in transfusions. The Medical Technologist will operate laboratory equipment effectively, analyze test results for accuracy and acceptability, and report findings according to organizational standards. The position also includes performing automated tests using computerized and automated equipment, running tests, analyzing results for reporting to physicians or registered nurses, and performing Quality Assurance work to ensure equipment accuracy.
