In the Special Chemistry and Immunology laboratory, the Medical Technologist supports high-quality laboratory testing. This role involves preparing specimens, performing routine laboratory tests, conducting quality control and maintenance, identifying computer data issues, troubleshooting instruments, communicating technical information, assisting with training, participating in continuing education, recognizing normal and abnormal values, and modeling Standards of Behavior. The Medical Technologist performs diagnostic testing on patient samples to aid physicians in the diagnosis and/or monitoring of various disease states, following standardized procedures, preparing samples, and analyzing test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits.
