About The Position
Performs, participates in the implementation of, and assists in the instruction of complex and special Laboratory procedures. Recognizes unusual results and difficulties while performing or implementing procedures and makes required corrections and/or decisions, as necessary. Relates procedural difficulties and required corrections to the supervisor. Responsible for, but not limited to, quality, efficiency, and safety in the performance of all technical functions and for proper handling of specimens, supplies and equipment. Provides care to pediatric patients of varying ages with age related needs.
Requirements
- Work Experience: None required.
- License/Registration/Certification: Certified/registered as a Medical Technologist with A.S.C.P., N.C.A. or equivalent.
- Education and Training: Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science from an approved college or university, or equivalent such as military training as defined by 42 CFR493.1489.
- Skills: Knowledge of pre-analytical, analytical, and post analytical phases of clinical laboratory testing.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis.
- Academic knowledge of Life Sciences.
