About The Position

Baptist Health Floyd is seeking a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician to work in its laboratory in the Southern Indiana/Louisville, Kentucky area. The role requires knowledge of Clinical Laboratory Science, the ability to perform high-complexity testing, and an understanding of the clinical relevance of laboratory testing and reporting. The employee maintains performance records and uses independent judgment to produce acceptable test results within quality-control standards. Testing is performed according to standard operating procedures. This is a full-time position of 64 hours biweekly, scheduled for four 8-hour shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with a weekend and holiday rotation. The position offers the opportunity to work at a regional nonprofit hospital as part of a multidisciplinary team, within an organization that promotes continued education and growth. The laboratory is located at 1850 State Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150, about 10 minutes from downtown Louisville.

Requirements

Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related biological science from an accredited institution.
ASCP or AMT certification.
Current students must attain ASCP or AMT certification within 18 months.
Must meet CLIA ’88 standards to qualify as testing personnel.
Knowledge of Clinical Laboratory Science.
Skills necessary to perform high-complexity testing.
