About The Position

Baptist Health Floyd’s Laboratory is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician in the Southern Indiana/Louisville, Kentucky area. The role involves performing high-complexity laboratory testing and requires knowledge of Clinical Laboratory Science and an understanding of the clinical relevance of laboratory testing and reporting. The employee maintains performance records and uses independent judgment to generate acceptable test results within quality-control standards. Testing is performed according to standard operating procedures. This is a full-time position scheduled for 64 hours biweekly, consisting of four 8-hour shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with a weekend and holiday rotation. The position offers the opportunity to work at a regional, nonprofit hospital as part of a multidisciplinary team, within an organization that promotes continued education and growth. Requirements

Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related biological science from an accredited institution.
ASCP or AMT certification.
Current students must attain ASCP or AMT certification within 18 months.
Must meet CLIA ’88 standards to be qualified as testing personnel.
Knowledge of Clinical Laboratory Science.
Skills necessary to perform high-complexity testing.
Understanding of the clinical relevance of laboratory testing and reporting.
