Requirements
- An associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or one of the chemical, physical or biological sciences required.
- Experience required for ASCP certification is required.
- American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) required.
Responsibilities
- Performs and interprets standard, complex and specialized tests.
- Performs full range of chemical, microbiologic, immunologic, hematologic, and immunohematology laboratory procedures.
- Evaluates test results and follow-up with appropriate action.
- Performs instrument calibrations, maintenance, QC and troubleshooting procedures.
- Completes all internal and external documentation as per policies and procedures.
- Provides administrative and technical consulting on laboratory testing.
- Assists in the training of laboratory personnel, other healthcare professionals and consumers.
- Participates in evaluation of new techniques and procedures in the laboratory.
