This role is responsible for providing quality and rapid lab results by utilizing knowledge of laboratory analyses, proper procedures, work equipment, and safety procedures. The position involves following laboratory protocols for specimen handling, test analysis, reporting, and record maintenance, as well as adhering to quality control policies and documenting all quality control activities and instrument calibrations. The Medical Technologist/Technician will also order supplies, assist healthcare professionals with patient care, handle requests efficiently, and troubleshoot any issues that may affect test performance or reporting. This role requires understanding and performing all duties on associated checklists, using correct medical terminology, staying updated on policies, and implementing them as directed. Responsibilities also include sterilizing instruments, stocking areas, maintaining cleanliness, attending mandatory training and staff meetings, and being flexible to work at any center as needed. The position requires understanding that indeterminate amounts of time may be needed for duties, and all checklist duties must be completed within the assigned shift. The role involves operating and maintaining medical and office equipment, participating in maintenance assignments, and completing other directed duties.
