About The Position

To perform complex lab analyses on patient specimens and to report the results to the appropriate recipient. This role involves providing input into policies associated with the job’s purpose and essential responsibilities. The position requires routine decision making regarding prioritizing workflow, determining specimen and quality control acceptability, and identifying panic values. There is no formal supervisory responsibility.

Requirements

• Knowledge of normal and abnormal values.
• Understand the functions and operation of instruments.
• Know test procedures.
• Understand laws and policies and procedures.
• Phlebotomy skills.
• Computer skills.
• Ability to work with instrumentation and troubleshoot instruments.
• Meet the requirements outlined in paragraph (b)(2)(ii) of section §493.1489 of the CLIA Federal Regulations.

Nice To Haves

• National certification preferred.
