About The Position

Performs routine and specialized diagnostic medical laboratory tests requested by healthcare staff, following established protocols and procedures. Prepares specimens for microscopic examination or testing, operates automated laboratory instrumentation and equipment, performs quality control and assurance procedures, and records laboratory results in the specified system. Follows required privacy, safety, and biohazard procedures and standards.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by the ASCP Board of Certification (BOC) or equivalent. If not certified, certification must be obtained within the first year of employment.
• The job description lists more than one year of clinical experience in one section; an additional section states that no experience is required.
