About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to join its team in Silverton, Oregon. The role involves performing routine and complex laboratory testing, ensuring specimen suitability, maintaining and troubleshooting instrumentation, and reporting accurate, timely results to support quality patient care. This position is scheduled for 24 hours per week on variable days, with primary start times of 6:00 AM or 7:00 AM. The schedule includes a rotating weekend approximately every fourth weekend, and occasional additional shift coverage may be required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Life Science or Medical Technology.
ASCP or AMT certification.
High level of attention to detail and ability to prioritize and multitask.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
Exceptional customer service.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable working under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Determine whether specimens are acceptable for testing according to established criteria.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care.
Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
Assist with specimen processing when needed.
Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
