The position is located in a Medical-Surgical unit with a total of 61 combined beds. The patient ratio during days is 1:5 and during nights is 1:6. Common diagnoses and types of patients include surgical patients such as total joints, fractures, bariatric, urology, and general surgery, as well as medical patients with conditions like CHF, CVA, shortness of breath (SOB), and diabetic issues. The unit is equipped with CPAP and BiPAP devices, along with high-flow oxygen systems. Monitor technicians are available; however, RNs will confirm and read strips. Scrub color is flexible with any scrub color permitted. Unit-specific orientation and a float checklist will be provided upon hire.
