About The Position

The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, patient-centered care within a fast-paced inpatient med-surg unit. This role is responsible for comprehensive nursing care delivery, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient conditions. The RN collaborates closely with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care using evidence-based practices and structured care models such as Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.

Requirements

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required within 30 days of hire)
Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required

Responsibilities

Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments throughout the shift
Identify, document, and promptly report changes in patient condition
Administer medications and monitor patient responses (therapeutic and adverse effects)
Carry out provider orders including treatments, procedures, and monitoring
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in patient records
Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care and anticipate patient needs
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and medications
Communicate complex medical information in an understandable manner
Coordinate care plans with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements
Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
