About The Position

Emory Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Clinician for their Medical Surgical department. This full-time position operates on a 7a-7:30p schedule, requiring 36 hours per week. The RN Clinician is expected to be a capable and experienced professional with a broad understanding of patient care for a specific population. They will utilize acquired knowledge, theory, research, and experience to respond to changes in clinical situations, applying the Synergy Model for Care to personalize patient and family care. This role involves serving as a resource to colleagues and advocating for patients and families. The position requires delivering safe, effective, and independent nursing care, performing thorough patient assessments, developing and implementing care plans, and accurately documenting care. The RN will identify patient and family learning needs, recognize cultural differences, delegate appropriately, and work effectively with interdisciplinary teams. A developing leadership role, including potential Charge Nurse responsibilities, is also part of the position. Additionally, the RN will assist in orienting staff and students, demonstrate strong communication and conflict resolution skills, identify policy revision needs based on research, engage in professional growth, and collect/analyze data to improve patient care. Participation in surveys and maintaining required professional development points are also expected.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), AND 12 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years, OR Recent completion of a re-entry nursing program.
  • OR, Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience within the past five years.
  • A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
  • BLS certification.
  • ACLS may be required for certain departments, post hire.
  • Additional certifications may be required based on department and specialty.
  • If completing virtual care activities that may include multi-state practice, an active compact/multistate license (eNLC) is required within 60 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Emory LPNs enrolled in an Emory ADN program as of 3/30/2025 must sign an obligation agreement to complete an ADN-to-BSN program within two years of entering the RN Clinician role.
  • Emory Warner Robins, Perry and affiliated Physician Groups location RN Clinicians with an Associate's Degree in Nursing with less than 2 years experience as a new hire or transferring as of 3/29/2026, must sign an obligation agreement to complete an ADN-to-BSN program within two years of entering the RN Clinician role.
  • Employees in role prior to 11/09/2025 will have until their next renewal date to achieve compact status.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, effective, and independent nursing care using the nursing process.

  • Assist in orienting staff and students in the absence of a designated preceptor.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Identify the need for policy revisions based on evidence-based research.
  • Engage in professional growth and actively apply the Synergy Model for Care in practice.
  • Collect, report, and analyze data to improve patient care and meet organizational standards.
  • Participate in surveys, interviews, and other methods to identify and resolve areas for improvement.
  • Maintain required points and contact hours per the clinical lattice PLAN system.
